The Xbox360's sometimes poor D-pad is not usually an issue. The third party drivers have a ton of configurability and even profile support. Rumble support in the wireless driver will probably require a few hours of hunting. Either 360 pad will require 3rd party drivers. The PS2 always read as a generic USB gamepad and had very little configurability. The PS2 converter I had was 1.5 gen and did not allow for rumble. I have used PS2 -> USB and Xbox360 Wired and Wireless gamepads for emulation. Check out your local pawn shops, Craigslist, and second-hand stores for used controllers. Replacement rubber button inserts are like $8. If you're concerned about the wear and/or sanitary concerns of an original SNES controller, they are easily taken apart and the buttons and case cleaned with dish detergent. Quality varies a lot as you can imagine, so look around.įor the Sega Saturn controllers, Sega has licensed the design to a Chinese manufacturer and they are being widely sold on eBay. However, there is a bright spot as the parent has ran out on the SNES controller design and 3rd parties are making copies. At this point, I'd just leave them alone for the collector/museum community. New original boxed SNES and Saturn USB controllers are out there, but rather rare and very expensive (think $50-100+/ea for sealed packaging of originals, less for the licensed knockoffs).

Your ideal solutions are a SNES controller, Sega Saturn USB controller, or Xbox 360 controller (wired or wireless).
